One of the pillars of the modern architecture of Prague made Rašín Embankment dance in 1996. It is situated in Prague, on the right bank of the Vltava River, in the corner of Rašín Embankment and Jirásek Square. There used to be a block of flats, which was destroyed by mistake by an American bomb during the aerial bombardment of Prague in 1945 as Americans thought it was Dresden. The idea of the house was inspired by the dancing ability of a famous film couple – Fred Astair is symbolized by the stone tower and his partner, Ginger Rogers, by the glass one. The Dancing House is a home of a gallery, a restaurant and a bar with a lookout terrace, from where you can admire Prague from 360 degrees. The originally office building has seven above-ground floors and two underground ones.
